About
Emma
Yoga Teacher
I have been practicing yoga for eighteen years, it has become a part of everything I do.
Although like many people I joined my first yoga class believing it was a form of exercise, and it is really, but has given me so much more.....
It offers me the ability to build stability, strength and flexibility, within both my body and my mind. Yoga helps me to be in the present moment, while on and off my yoga mat. It has taught me to be honest, with myself and with others, while offering kindness and humility.
Yoga brings me happiness everyday, it always makes me smile, I can honestly say it changed my life. So after the birth of my first child, I studied yoga in more depth and have now been teaching for seven years.
I have practiced yoga with many teachers around the world, although my training background is Hatha, the traditional yoga practice dating back to the 11th Century. I have also studied Iyengar, this style of yoga is more focused on posture and alignment, plus Vinyasa, a flowing style moving from one pose to another through sequencing.
The yoga classes I offer are focused mainly on the core physical elements of yoga, moving your body and working with your breathing. While in the class you will learn how to move your body through the yoga postures, use your breath to keep you steady and focused, and generate an ease within your body. This may be what you learn in class, but I hope you will leave with so much more!
